Samsung Galaxy S Update: Nexus S Upgraded

NExusS update.JPGSamsung Vibrant phones are the only phones in the original Samsung Galaxy S series to be getting an update to Android 2.2 Froyo.  The Nexus S, which is essentially a curved, pure Google Samsung Galaxy S, without the added Samsung Media and Social Hubs, is getting an update to its Android 2.3 Gingerbread - to Android 2.3.2 to fix the SMS bug.

The update for the Nexus S started being sent out Over-the-Air (OTA) yesterday.  The original Nexus One is also getting an update - not to Gingerbread, but to Android OS 2.2.2.

The update is named SMS bug fix GRH78C for the Nexus S.  The update also fixes browser lag problems.  Users receive an update availability notice that states "Android 2.3.2
601kb.  This system update from Google contains important bug fixes."
